SEVENTIES CARDIGAN

I hope everyone has had a nice Christmas! This was the first Christmas in years that I could really enjoy it after having made so much progress in the last year and it’s been amazing for me. I was able to go and do all my Christmas shopping myself, I made Christmas dinner and I was able to be up out of bed for most of the day. I still struggled and there were things I still couldn’t do, but the improvement from last year has been incredible for me and I’m feeling extremely grateful for that. For any readers who are living with pain or any other health problems, I hope you have been able to enjoy Christmas as much as possible. I spent 4 Christmases confined to bed having to eat my dinner and open my presents lay down in absolute agony, so I know how hard it can be to enjoy this time of year.

I took a few photos of one of my Christmas outfits. The absolute highlight for me is this little sass pot of a cardigan. I have wanted this for months from Asos, and a few days before Christmas it went into the sale and I snapped it up. I’m obsessed with it. Its thick shaggy knit and chevron pattern make it the ultimate seventies piece for my wardrobe, giving instant cool and style. Plus it has metallic gold thread running through it making it perfect for over Christmas and New Years by adding some seventies glitz and glamour. I’m usually all for anything sparkly, glittery and sequined at this time of year, but I wasn’t really feeling any of the party dresses around at the moment. I’ve instead been opting for something more classic and adding some sass with my styling and accessories. This very special cardigan is ideal for that, it keeps me warm and is a great alternative to throwing on a jacket. Being a cardigan, I can wear it anytime and it’s going to look great in the day too. I can’t even tell you how much I love it and how happy I am with it. Thank you Asos sale!

The dress I’m wearing is a gorgeous little black party dress from Misguided. Its loose flowy shape, sheer fabric and pleated flared sleeves and skirt have got me feeling like an Abba Dancing Queen with the seventies inspired cardigan over the top. It’s gorgeous on its own too and I’m also contemplating getting it in berry pink. Now on to my boots. I have wanted Topshop’s black leather boots with marbled tortoise heel for months; I pick them up and lust after them every single time I go in store. They’re £85 though which is more than I usually pay for boots and I couldn’t really justify it no matter how much I loved them. But then I found these pretty much identical ones from Ego Official. I can’t actually get over how similar they are. My favourite part of the Topshop ones is the heel. I’ve seen many versions of them from various places, but the heel was never the same. These, however, are perfect. The heel is exactly the same. They’re gorgeous boots, and at only £29.99 they’re £55 cheaper than Topshop. The heel makes a statement all on its own and I can just about manage the heel height, although I still need practice. I’m swooning over them.
