I have been a huge fan of Charlotte Tilbury for a long time. I think she is such an incredibly talented make up artist and I was so excited when she launched her own beauty range. I have been particularly desperate to try her Matte Revolution lipsticks since they first launched and I finally have my very first one. I spent a while swatching all of the different shades, and ultimately ended up with Lost Cherry. There were a few I really loved, but there was just something special about this colour.

Firstly, can we just take a minute to appreciate the packaging? The casing of the lipstick is stunning. It looks quite gold in the photos but it’s actually a beautiful rose gold colour. I get the impression a lot of care and thought has gone into the packaging’s design for all of the products in the Charlotte Tilbury range. It screams luxury and is the perfect mix of vintage luxe whilst being totally modern at the same time. Truly some of the nicest make up packaging I’ve ever seen.

Now let’s move onto the review. Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipsticks are described as being luminous modern-matte long-lasting lipsticks, designed to create the illusion of fuller, wider lips with a buildable and hydrating formula. I always favour a matte lip as I not only love the matte look but they usually last a lot longer. The downside is that typically they end up being drying on the lips, clinging to every bit of dryness or flakiness, and often settling into and emphasising lip lines. They can also be an absolute pain to apply because of their dry formula, with plenty of dragging across the lips involved in the process. This Charlotte Tilbury matte lipstick is something quite different though. It’s described as being the matte lipstick of the future and I can see why. It’s nothing like the matte lipsticks I’m used to, and believe me, I have a lot. This little beauty glides on so easily, almost like a balm. I don’t know if I’d necessarily describe it as creamy, perhaps more emollient. It has great pigmentation and feels so lovely and comfortable on the lips whilst you’re wearing it. It only has a soft matte finish, but it is matte enough. I didn’t feel it doing any hydrating to my chronically dry lips, but it wasn’t drying at all which is a big win for a matte lipstick. And it still has impressive wear time and lasted for quite a few hours. I did find it eventually started to settle into my lip lines, but all lipsticks do that on me. The important thing is that it didn’t emphasise them or create that cracked appearance you sometimes get with mattes. I can’t even tell you how much I hate that.

I particularly love the uniquely shaped square tip of the lipstick bullet. It’s been specially designed to replicate the classic shape of a lip brush to help colour glide on easily and more precisely. I wasn’t sure what I thought of it at first, but after applying the lipstick I think it works perfectly. I actually apply lipstick direct from the bullet onto the centre of my lips and then I’ll always use a lip brush at the edges and corners. I still did that with this lipstick, but I found the shape of the bullet to be extremely easy and practical to use and I could go much closer to the edges with more precision.

There was only one negative for me, and I imagine it’s actually a pro for a lot of people. It wasn’t as opaque as I was hoping. I can’t hold this against the lipstick as its description clearly states it as being buildable to create more versatility. I just like bold colours like this to be opaque and intense at first swipe, and this wasn’t. It was more of a medium opacity, but it was very buildable. I applied 2 good coats in the photo of me wearing it and likewise in the swatches.

Lost Cherry is described as being a pop of pastel fuchsia. I find it to be more of a coral fuchsia, with a little redness to it. It’s an absolutely gorgeous colour. I knew from first swiping it across the back of my hand that this lipstick and I were going to be very happy together. I’ve tried this kind of coral pink shade many times from various brands, but none of them really worked that well for me. I am head over heels in love with Lost Cherry though. It’s hard to capture in photos but it almost has a radiance to it as well which is just beautiful. It gives a lovely pop of colour without being too bold against my pale skin. It’s already become a favourite.

I’m so happy with this lipstick. It is an expensive, luxury make up purchase, but you’re getting a very high quality, very special lipstick. I’ve only tried this one shade so I can’t comment on consistency within the range, but from swatching them I think they are all going to be just as amazing. I can’t recommend Lost Cherry enough and I’m already trying to decide which shade I want to try next.

Have you tried Charlotte Tilbury’s Matte Revolution lipsticks? What do you think of them?

Something terrible happened to me, something I imagine we all have unfortunately had to go through at some point in our fashion obsessed lives: I lost a piece of clothing to the spiteful, shrinking washing machine. But this wasn’t just any piece of clothing; this was one of my favourite dresses. You know those days when you wake up feeling far too tired and uninspired, with no clue of what to wear and no energy to make the effort of rummaging through the mess that is your wardrobe? Well, this was my go to dress, the dress that always saved me in those situations. I have talked about my love of this dress in a previous post. Its retro geometric pattern, flared fit and neutral colour palette made it an absolute star of a dress. I could throw it on, cinch it in with a waist belt and I’d be good to go. So when the unthinkable happened and it shrunk in the wash, it’s safe to say I was heartbroken. It had washed fine plenty of times before, but for some unknown reason the washer decided it hated me and ruined it on this particular day. It’s now too tight and drastically shortened in length, making it completely unwearable.

Of course I then did what any normal girl would do and went on the hunt for a replacement. I only bought the dress about 5 or 6 months ago from H&M, so I checked online and in 4 separate stores in the hope they may still have one lying around in my size. But no such luck. They did, however, have the same exact dress in a different pattern. Truth be told, I’m not as in love with this new print as I was the original dress. But it’s a similarly quirky design consisting of the same classic colours. And most importantly, it’s the same fit and style. It’s actually quite a snazzy print. I’ve worn it a couple of times already and it’s growing on me more and more.

I can wear it with a range of different shoes, but these black snake Topshop boots with their fancy gold heel are my every day, casual boots. I’ve shown you them before here, but I’ll say it again that they are the comfiest boots I’ve ever had the pleasure of owning. Their black colour has made them a go to for me as they basically work with everything, and the gold heel adds some serious style appeal.

From now on, it looks like it’s going to be hand wash only for me. Oh, the joy.

It’s almost Valentine’s Day, one of my favourite days of the year. I’m a total sucker for anything pink, red, and love heart shaped, and all of the novelty cuteness that fills the shops. Today I thought I’d share with you some Lush goodies I got as a pre-Valentine’s gift. I’m a big Lush lover. They have so many incredible things, but my favourites are the bath products. Not only do they smell amazing, but having a hot Lush bath always helps with my aches and pain. I also struggle with sleep because of my fibromyalgia, and I have a hard time turning my crazy mind off at night. So having a nice relaxing bath before bed often helps me.

My one true Lush love has to be their Snow Fairy scent, and in particular the Snow Fairy shower gel that they bring out at Christmas time. It is an utterly perfect concoction of girly, sweet, sugary, shimmery goodness. I get it every year and it’s one of my favourite smells in the entire world. At the moment, Lush has their limited edition Valentines and Mother’s Day collections available which consist of some gorgeous options. They always make a perfect Valentines gift, either as a present to yourself or from a loved one. Last week, I went in store and got a few new bits to enjoy.

Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar £4.25

This little baby is from Lush’s Valentines range. I’ve already mentioned in my Coconut Lane post how much I love unicorns, so how on earth could I not get this multi-coloured unicorn horn? Lush bubble bars are probably the products I use most. I love a good bubble bath. I personally like to cut the bubble bars in half so I get two uses out of them, and I always find half gives me lots of lovely bubbles. This magical horn contains relaxing lavender oil and mood brightening neroli, perfect to fill the bathroom with feel good scents while you enjoy the bubbles. The lavender is the most prominent scent and it smells beautiful. It also has the prettiest lustre shimmer to it, and makes the water a nice soft pink shade.

Ladybird Bubble Bar £3.95

This bubble bar is actually from the Mother’s Day range. Look how cute it is! Not only is it crazy adorable, but it also smells so good. It’s actually very hard to describe. It contains peppermint oil and geranium oil, and even though it might sound like a bit of an odd combination it just works. It has a very sweet smell which is what I tend to go for, but it’s quite a fruity and minty sweetness. You can definitely smell the mint, but it’s like a very sweet, candy like mint that I absolutely love. It created beautiful fragrant bubbles in lovely red coloured water.

Rose Bombshell Bath Bomb £4.25

Also from the Mother’s Day collection, this beautiful pink bath bomb is a trifecta of rose. It contains rose absolute, rose oil, and what’s more it has yellow rose petals inside that will burst out in the water as the outer shell fizzes away. It also has a rose pattern on its surface with soft green petals. I’ve been dying to use it but I wanted to save it for this weekend. I can’t wait. It’s another sweet smelling product with lots of floral notes, just the way I like it. If you’re familiar with Lush’s Rose Jam scent, it’s very similar to that.

The Experimenter Bath Bomb £3.95

This bath bomb is something quite special. Its hexagonal prism shape comprises of 5 different vibrant colours. It’s one of Lush’s new permanent products that they launched last year. I’ve seen countless videos and photos of its dazzling beauty in the bath water but had yet to use one myself. When I went in store, there was only 1 left so I took it as a sign it was meant to be. It’s like a colourful explosion when you use it, and there’s even popping candy inside. It really is like a little show in your bath. It has quite an intriguing and complex smell. It contains vetivert oil which seems to give it quite a smoky, almost earthy scent, but they’ve added fair trade vanilla absolute (one of my favourite ingredients) and tonka to soften it and make it more appealing. I wasn’t that keen on it at first, but it grew on me and the aroma when it’s in the water is actually quite nice. One thing to mention is that this bath bomb was full of sparkling glitter, but it was easy to clean and rinse away after using it. I happen to absolutely love glitter, but for those who don’t it’s something to be aware of.

There are lots of other products from the Valentines range that sound really nice. I desperately wanted the Lover Lamp bath bomb that’s full of cocoa butter and little red love hearts, but unfortunately when I went in they didn’t have any left which I was gutted about. Luckily though they had the new Mother’s Day things in which made up for it. There are also some beautifully packaged Valentines gift sets available if you’re looking for a present for someone special. I got some gorgeous goodies and am so happy with everything. Understandably, the unicorn horn has been very, very popular. As it’s for Valentines it’s only going to be available for a few more days though so better grab one quick.

I hope everyone has a very happy Valentine’s Day!

Ooh la la, berets are having a moment wouldn’t ya know. I’ve always loved a beret; they’re the perfect addition to give some of that ever sought after Parisian style. So classic, so chic, and oh so practical. Obviously, wearing a hat helps to bear the cold temperatures outside. But they also come in very handy on those bad hair days, or, in my case, when you simply can’t be bothered doing anything more than running a hair brush through it. The best part though is that wearing a beret always makes me feel like I’m getting that little bit closer to being Cher Horowitz from Clueless, one of my all time favourite movies and ultimate 90s style icon. I am forever wanting to emulate her style, and along with plaid skirts and over the knee socks, a beret is an easy way to do so. I like them best worn slightly off centre and with messy hair worn down to keep it looking laidback and cool. I usually stick to a simple, goes with everything black beret, but this little beauty with its eyelets and studs is just that bit more special.

I’ve worn it with a tan coloured sleeveless shift dress in a suedette material from Primark, and a plain black top with a high neckline worn underneath. And of course my outfit wouldn’t be complete without some utterly dreamy boots. I attempted taking the photos without a coat and lasted the whole of 90 seconds before I had to give in and put one on. Seriously, it is freezing. I’m officially over winter and can’t wait for spring to come already. Until then though, at least I have the cutest beret to help keep me warm and looking good.

I would like to introduce you to Coconut Lane. I’ve been a big fan of this new online store for a couple of months now and think they make the coolest home and fashion accessories. They’re a serious injection of sassiness and fun and are completely on trend with what’s popular. They love Mean Girls, unicorns and flamingos; need I say more? So, when they contacted me asking if I’d like to become an Ambassador, I of course jumped at the opportunity. They work with lots of bloggers and social media influencers to help promote their brand. And it means I get a 20% discount code for you all to use.

I love everything Coconut Lane sells. They have a great range of wall prints, phone cases, greeting cards and jewellery. I had a really hard time trying to choose which products to buy, but I ultimately decided on these 4 absolute gems.

What Dreams Are Made Of Framed Wall Print, £14.50 With Frame, £6 Print Alone

Something to know about me is that I’m obsessed with unicorns and mermaids. I don’t care if they’re not real, I choose to believe otherwise. So it was obviously a no brainer that I had to get this print. I mean, talk about ultimate life goals! Ok, so it might not be achievable, but it reminds me to follow my dreams and to believe in magic. Plus, I just love unicorns and mermaids. I got it with a frame, but you can also order just the print on its own. The frame has a hook to hang on the wall as well as a stand, so you can display it whichever way you prefer. I haven’t fully committed to a spot yet, but I think I might put it in the corner on my dressing table so I see it every day when I get ready. They have some other really amazing prints. They’re most popular is probably the ‘Stay classy, sassy, and a bit bad-assy’ one, there’s also some quotes from Mean Girls including my personal favourite ‘So fetch’, and something we should all ask ourselves ‘What would Beyonce do?’ along with many others.

Mermaid Splash iPhone Case £13

Continuing on with my mermaid obsession, I chose this mermaid splash iPhone case. Again, there are some gorgeous options for phone cases and I want all of them. I narrowed it down to this and their classic marble printed case, but in the end I went for the more colourful option. It’s a lovely shade of turquoise with white marbling and a gold, sparkly looking print. I love it. It’s available for iPhone 5/5s, iPhone 6/6s, and iPhone 6 Plus. There are other really cute designs that include things such as unicorns with glitter, flamingos and pineapples.

Arrow Head Bangle in Gold £12.50

I love dainty jewellery like this. The arrow design is stylish and cool, and what’s good is that it’s adjustable so it can be worn different ways. It also comes in silver and is just so pretty. I like subtle jewellery that has a beautiful design and detailing up close. There’s also a really nice twisted nail bangle that I think looks gorgeous.

Arrow Head Ring in Rose Gold £9

In the same style as the matching bangle, this ring is also adjustable which is especially useful for a ring. It means it can be worn as a normal ring, as a midi ring (which is how I’ve been wearing it), or as a thumb ring. Plus it will fit on any finger so you can change it up. I opted for rose gold as it’s my favourite, but it also comes in gold and silver. I’m hoping to get it in the other colours at some point too.

I couldn’t be happier with the things I ordered. I’ve been wearing the jewellery every day and my new phone case fits my iPhone 6 perfectly. I haven’t got any of the greeting cards they sell yet but they have some awesome ones. With Valentine’s Day coming up, I’m sure they’re going to be very popular. There are some amazing ones to give your best girlfriends. I’m a firm believer that Valentine’s should be a day to celebrate love in all its forms, not just romance. With cards such as ‘You are the Kendall to my Kylie’, and ‘Life without you is like Cara without brows’, they’re perfect to give your besties. And for the lovers, there’s the ultimate profession of love ‘I love you like Kanye loves Kanye’ and the adorable ‘Let’s Avocuddle’.

I’m so excited to see how this brand continues to grow. Fashion and home accessories should be fun, quirky and sassy, and Coconut Lane has really managed to capture that. They’re all about the sass. They have a great blog on their site too which is worth checking out.
