DENIM SMOCK DRESS AND GLOVE SHOES

Hello lovely readers. I’m sorry it’s been so long since my last post. For the last couple of weeks my boyfriend and I have both been really unwell and incapable of doing much at all. Once I did eventually start to feel better I then had a lot of personal business to catch up with. So I’m very sorry for the delay!

I’d also like to mention that my blog has had a little make over in the form of a brand new template that I purchased from Pipdig. I’m over the moon with it! I had wanted a new one for a while, and finally decided on this clean and minimal one. I installed it myself and it couldn’t have been simpler (they also offer to install it for you if you prefer). I’ve only had one minor problem which I’m currently waiting for a response from Pipdig in order to try and fix. Other than that though, it just requires some personalised tweaks and some additional features I’d like to add, so it is a bit of a work in progress at the moment. I love it and definitely recommend them if any of you are consider using them for your blog.

So, I’m back with a fresh new blog look and a fresh new outfit post for you, just in time to mark the official beginning of spring. Today’s look features a pretty new denim smock dress and my new favourite glove shoes, both from Asos. I have mentioned before how much I love denim dresses, and this one was too lovely not to get. I have a deep appreciation for smock dresses too for their laidback ease and comfort. I don’t know what it is, but whenever I wear a loose smock dress like this I constantly just want to start twirling in it. With this particular dress, I really loved the ruffles featured up the upper bodice which make it super cute. Being denim, it’s perfect for casual days, especially with its versatile mid blue shade. It’s still far too cold for me to even contemplate losing the tights, but once it warms up I think this is going to be amazing for spring and summer. I’m very confident this is going to get a lot of wear.

My shoes are a glove style that I am currently obsessed with. They’re a huge footwear trend this season along with similar styled court shoes. I fell in love with these black suede ones at first sight and snapped them up. The chunky, block heel makes them comfy and the height is just right making them wearable and appropriate any time of day. There are so many similar styles at the moment; I basically want them all in lots of different colours and materials. I’m sure you’ll be seeing a lot more of these ones in particular from me as I can’t get enough of them. They also had them in a pretty blush nude colour I wish I could have got for the warmer months. I’m hoping they come back in stock soon.

Katie xx

    1. Thank you! I tried so hard to get a better close up shot of my choker to show it better but I was using a tripod and couldn't get the camera to focus properly. It's gorgeous though and they also had it in black. And I'm glad you like the layout and template. I always love Pipdig's templates when I see them on other blogs and I couldn't be happier with the one I chose. I definitely recommend them! Super easy to install too xx

    1. Thank you! Aren't they gorgeous?! The colour of them is so pretty and perfect for spring and summer. I really wanted both but I decided to go for the black as I thought I'd probably get more wear out of them. I really wish I'd been able to afford the blush ones too though xx

  7. First, congratulations on the new blog design, very cool and classy, and glad to hear you're better! I've never heard of a "glove shoe" so you've opened my mind to that! I adore chunky heels for the reason that I can usually wear them all day without a problem! What a great dress as well, perfect for the months when it warms up but a great transitional piece as you're showing!

    1. Thank you so much Em! I'm glad to be feeling better, it was awful being sick I couldn't get anything done. I'm really glad you like the new look, I'm so happy with it and wish I'd done it sooner. And I'm completely the same and find chunky block heels so much easier to wear and much more comfortable. These shoes are very comfy! I only got my dress a couple of weeks ago and it's been getting a lot of love already. It's nice and loose so will be perfect when the weather warms up. Thank you for your lovely comment! Xx
