URBAN DECAY NAKED SKIN CONCEALER REVIEW

Hey lovelies, I’m sorry it’s been so long since my last post. I’ve been really busy over the last few weeks and I’ve been struggling to find a balance and just needed a little blogging break. But I’m back at it and hopefully I’ll be able to get back on to a more regular posting schedule soon. Thank you all for bearing with me!

For today’s post I wanted to share with you a new concealer I’ve been using for the past month that I’ve been really impressed with. When it comes to my beauty products, I am very much of the mindset that if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I have products that work well, some better than others, but I’m happy with them all. Something else to know about me is that I HATE wasting my money on things that don’t work for me. It’s happened way too many times where I’ve splurged on what’s new in the beauty world only to be disappointed and have it sit in my drawer never to be used again. As a result I’m now very reluctant to try new things unless I really think I need to.

Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Concealer, however, tempted me to change my ways and try something new for a change. Truth be told I’ve been unhappy with my concealer for quite a while now. I currently use 2 different ones: Mac’s Studio Finish Concealer for blemishes and those areas I need a little extra coverage, which I love, and YSL's Touche Eclat for under my eyes, which isn’t performing well enough for me. I’m constantly tired and suffer from a lot of darkness under my eyes, and lately it’s been getting worse. YSL’s Touche Eclat is a great highlighting concealer, but it just doesn’t have enough coverage for me. I’ve also noticed it’s been settling into my under eye lines a bit too much for my liking as well. So it’s safe to say I really wanted to find something better.

Since Urban Decay released their Naked Skin Concealer I’ve seen countless beauty bloggers talk about how great it is and I’ve read so many positive reviews. When I was searching for a new under eye concealer it consistently came up in my search results, so I decided to look into it further and eventually took the plunge and bought it.

Described by Urban Decay as a weightless complete coverage concealer, it’s supposed to give buildable, even coverage with a luminous, demi-matte finish. So did it deliver? I would say there are pros and cons. Yes it is high coverage, it is buildable and it does dry very much like a second skin as Urban Decay claim. I do find that the formula is quite dry though. I already suffer from very dry skin and this includes the delicate skin around my eyes. My usual Touche Eclat is definitely creamier, but the drier formula of Naked Skin is making it last longer and prevents it from settling into my fine lines as much. It blends quite well too, although not as seamlessly as stated. I also feel like the colour range was lacking a little bit, specifically for those with pale skin like mine. There are 3 shades that are supposed to be for the fairer skin tones, and I went for the palest shade which is Fair, as I felt like it was the only one pale enough for me. The problem is that it’s actually a bit too light and yellow based despite being classed as a neutral shade, but there was a big jump between this and the other 2 light shades.

This concealer does have a lot going for it and I think it does live up to its claims for the most part. I’d imagine for those with other skin tones and skin that isn’t very dry like mine that it would be amazing. Ultimately, for me personally the pros still definitely outweigh the cons, and it is a big improvement on the YSL Touche Eclat. For anyone that’s thinking of trying the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer or is looking for a new high coverage concealer to try, I would absolutely recommend.

I’m so happy that I decided to try something new with this concealer. Although not perfect, this little baby has made a big difference to my make up.

  2. I really want to try it, sweetie (well, have been wanting for ages now lol) so I appreciate your honest review so much!! Even though the formula is a bit on the dry side, the fact that it doesn't crease into fine lines as much is a major win for me <3
Will hopefully get the right shade after we're back from holibobs :)
P.S. Take your time & ease into blogging. It's always difficult to juggle it all especially if you're insanely busy. I struggle on a daily basis but hey, we love what we do so it's all worth it ;)

  15. This is the best soap I've found for dry skin. It has just the right amount of moisturizing lotion in it to be effective without over doing it. Also, remember to use a moisturizing hand lotion a few times a day, especially if your hands are frequently in water. Face Rash
