CHARLOTTE TILBURY MATTE REVOLUTION LIPSTICK IN LOST CHERRY

I have been a huge fan of Charlotte Tilbury for a long time. I think she is such an incredibly talented make up artist and I was so excited when she launched her own beauty range. I have been particularly desperate to try her Matte Revolution lipsticks since they first launched and I finally have my very first one. I spent a while swatching all of the different shades, and ultimately ended up with Lost Cherry. There were a few I really loved, but there was just something special about this colour.

Firstly, can we just take a minute to appreciate the packaging? The casing of the lipstick is stunning. It looks quite gold in the photos but it’s actually a beautiful rose gold colour. I get the impression a lot of care and thought has gone into the packaging’s design for all of the products in the Charlotte Tilbury range. It screams luxury and is the perfect mix of vintage luxe whilst being totally modern at the same time. Truly some of the nicest make up packaging I’ve ever seen.

THE REPLACEMENT DRESS

Something terrible happened to me, something I imagine we all have unfortunately had to go through at some point in our fashion obsessed lives: I lost a piece of clothing to the spiteful, shrinking washing machine. But this wasn’t just any piece of clothing; this was one of my favourite dresses. You know those days when you wake up feeling far too tired and uninspired, with no clue of what to wear and no energy to make the effort of rummaging through the mess that is your wardrobe? Well, this was my go to dress, the dress that always saved me in those situations. I have talked about my love of this dress in a previous post. Its retro geometric pattern, flared fit and neutral colour palette made it an absolute star of a dress. I could throw it on, cinch it in with a waist belt and I’d be good to go. So when the unthinkable happened and it shrunk in the wash, it’s safe to say I was heartbroken. It had washed fine plenty of times before, but for some unknown reason the washer decided it hated me and ruined it on this particular day. It’s now too tight and drastically shortened in length, making it completely unwearable.

LUSH FOR VALENTINE'S DAY

It’s almost Valentine’s Day, one of my favourite days of the year. I’m a total sucker for anything pink, red, and love heart shaped, and all of the novelty cuteness that fills the shops. Today I thought I’d share with you some Lush goodies I got as a pre-Valentine’s gift. I’m a big Lush lover. They have so many incredible things, but my favourites are the bath products. Not only do they smell amazing, but having a hot Lush bath always helps with my aches and pain. I also struggle with sleep because of my fibromyalgia, and I have a hard time turning my crazy mind off at night. So having a nice relaxing bath before bed often helps me.

THE BERET

Ooh la la, berets are having a moment wouldn’t ya know. I’ve always loved a beret; they’re the perfect addition to give some of that ever sought after Parisian style. So classic, so chic, and oh so practical. Obviously, wearing a hat helps to bear the cold temperatures outside. But they also come in very handy on those bad hair days, or, in my case, when you simply can’t be bothered doing anything more than running a hair brush through it. The best part though is that wearing a beret always makes me feel like I’m getting that little bit closer to being Cher Horowitz from Clueless, one of my all time favourite movies and ultimate 90s style icon. I am forever wanting to emulate her style, and along with plaid skirts and over the knee socks, a beret is an easy way to do so. I like them best worn slightly off centre and with messy hair worn down to keep it looking laidback and cool. I usually stick to a simple, goes with everything black beret, but this little beauty with its eyelets and studs is just that bit more special.

COCONUT LANE

I would like to introduce you to Coconut Lane. I’ve been a big fan of this new online store for a couple of months now and think they make the coolest home and fashion accessories. They’re a serious injection of sassiness and fun and are completely on trend with what’s popular. They love Mean Girls, unicorns and flamingos; need I say more? So, when they contacted me asking if I’d like to become an Ambassador, I of course jumped at the opportunity. They work with lots of bloggers and social media influencers to help promote their brand. And it means I get a 20% discount code for you all to use.
