ALL WRAPPED UP

This time of year is my absolute favourite. There are so many things that make me happy for the autumn, but the best thing, other than the fact we’re officially in the run up to Christmas (yay!!), has got to be the fashion. The layering, chunky knitwear, the rich colour palette and the mix of beautiful textures, it all just makes me giddy with excitement.  I have to admit, I go a little bit crazy for all of the amazing goodness that fills the shops for the A/W season and I end up wanting everything! And for me there’s nothing better than the pitiful UK summer of the weather not being able to make its mind up finally coming to an end and the colder temperatures kicking in, making way for all of the gorgeous coats to get wrapped up in.

THE COMFIEST TREND AROUND

Yep, I am seriously late to the party, but I am officially a convert to the pyjama trend everyone’s been loving. I always thought it wasn’t really for me and not something I could pull off, despite looking great on others, but that’s definitely changed now. It was one dress in particular that was responsible for my conversion. I had seen and immediately loved it whilst aimlessly scrolling through Asos, as you do, but I added it to my saved items and sadly forgot all about it and its cuteness. It was only when my birthday came around in July that I remembered.

URBAN DECAY NAKED SKIN CONCEALER REVIEW

Hey lovelies, I’m sorry it’s been so long since my last post. I’ve been really busy over the last few weeks and I’ve been struggling to find a balance and just needed a little blogging break. But I’m back at it and hopefully I’ll be able to get back on to a more regular posting schedule soon. Thank you all for bearing with me!

For today’s post I wanted to share with you a new concealer I’ve been using for the past month that I’ve been really impressed with. When it comes to my beauty products, I am very much of the mindset that if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I have products that work well, some better than others, but I’m happy with them all. Something else to know about me is that I HATE wasting my money on things that don’t work for me. It’s happened way too many times where I’ve splurged on what’s new in the beauty world only to be disappointed and have it sit in my drawer never to be used again. As a result I’m now very reluctant to try new things unless I really think I need to.

BIRTHDAY MONTH, BIRTHDAY SHOES

Tuesday happened to be my birthday, and in my case, I don’t just want a birth day, I want a birth month. So for the whole of July I used my upcoming birthday as my excuse to basically try and get my own way and to justify my terrible spending habits. Not that I ever need an excuse, but hey it’s nice to actually have one.

My birthday ultimately means more shopping, more clothes, and yes, more shoes. Shoes, shoes, shoes and more shoes; my name is Katie and I am a total shoe addict. In the past month or so I seem to have gone a little crazy and got a ridiculous amount of new ones. And for various reasons; some have been birthday presents from loved ones, some have been birthday treats to myself, some really affordable and gorgeous, and others amazing sale finds I would have been stupid to pass up. So, with that in mind, rather than show some of them in various outfit posts, I thought it may be a good idea to do a whole post dedicated to all of the new additions to my shoedrobe. Fair warning, the majority are actually boots as they are most definitely my weakness, but each and every pair has brought me so much happiness and I want to share them with you.

MANGO TRENCH JACKET

In my last post, I talked about personal style and how it’s important to try something new and step outside of your fashion comfort zone. I was thinking about it more and more after I published it and heard back from lots of you, and I ended up doing just that last week and I am so happy I did. I clearly should follow my own advice more often because I found this AMAZING jacket in the Mango sale, and if I hadn’t stepped outside my norm I never would have found it.

PERSONAL STYLE

Today’s post is something a little different. I was recently contacted by Farfetch asking if I’d like to enter a blogger competition, the only condition of entry being that my post has to take inspiration from their summer 2016 blogger content pack. Firstly, I love Farfetch, and I decided I definitely wanted to take part, however not necessarily for the chance to win. Don’t get me wrong, of course I would be over the moon to win, however my main motivation for entering was more of a personal one. As a blogger (I hope I’m ok to officially call myself that now), I think it’s important to constantly keep learning and improving and bringing better content to my blog. I thought it would be quite an interesting challenge to actually look through the content pack and see how I interpreted it and what inspiration I took to translate into a blog post that all of you lovelies would enjoy reading.

RED FLORAL CAMI DRESS

Here in Manchester we were enjoying absolutely gorgeous weather; the sun was shining, the skies were blue, and it was pretty darn hot. Unfortunately it was short lived and the past 2 weeks have been miserable and full of rain. Luckily though I took some outfit photos before the weather took a turn for the worse. The blinding sun on this particular day did make it quite difficult, so apologies for the quality of some of these photos, but it’s an outfit that I love and had to share.

MULES, MULES, MULES

Mules are everywhere right now and I for one can’t get enough. They’re a massive footwear trend for this summer and I am down right loving them. Mules were all over the S/S16 runways, with designers giving us a new, youthful reinvention of this classic style. They’re the perfect, easy breezy summer shoe, a one stop style that can take you straight from day to night time.

There are like a bjillion pairs of mules that I want at the moment. Perhaps that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but there are definitely an awful lot that I’m in love with. The trusty UK high street has lots of different options when it comes to heel height, style, colours and fabrics, with most having a comfortable block heel. I’m basically obsessed with them. So, with that in mind, I thought I would share a selection of my favourites and the ones that I am seriously swooning over.

3 WAYS TO WEAR A FLORAL DRESS: PART 3

Today’s post is the final part of my 3 ways to wear a floral dress series (see part 1 here and part 2 here), and I’m not sure but I think I may have saved the best for last. I was positive that my first look was going to be my favourite, but now I’m not so sure. I wanted my final outfit to be an evening look and to show an edgier way to style a floral dress such as this one from Topshop. I don’t typically feature that many evening looks, so maybe that’s why I’m loving this one so darn much.
