A couple of weeks ago, I shared with you my favourite bomber jackets around at the moment. Although I loved each and every one of them, there was one in particular that I just couldn’t get enough of and the more I looked at it, the more I fell in love. It was definitely my favourite. I eventually managed to get it and I can’t believe it’s mine, I love it so much.

So, say hello to my utter dreamboat of a bomber jacket. Look at it! It’s just so gorgeous. This premium floral embroidered beauty of a jacket is perfect for me. I love the silky fabric, the black and soft pink colours, the beautiful embroidery, and the oversized fit. It’s quite a thin material, so it’s still a little too chilly to wear without some layers, but it means it will do me throughout spring and the upcoming summer (which, let’s face it, is rarely nice and hot here in the UK). The detailing on the back is probably my favourite aspect about it, it’s stunning.

I plan on wearing it lots of different ways, but for today’s post I wanted to keep all the focus on the jacket and really let it make a statement. I decided to pair it with a simple little black shift dress, and although you can’t see them it actually has 3/4 length sleeves. My shoes are the glove style ones I featured in my last outfit post which are my current go to shoes. The glove style and block heel is right on trend for this season. They’re simplicity made them pair really well with the rest of this outfit, and keeping it quite feminine and simple contrasted nicely with the casual coolness of the bomber shape. Plus the floral embroidery is right in keeping with my typical girly style. It’s going to look great paired with denim and I can’t wait to wear it with some cute summer dresses.

Hello lovely readers. I’m sorry it’s been so long since my last post. For the last couple of weeks my boyfriend and I have both been really unwell and incapable of doing much at all. Once I did eventually start to feel better I then had a lot of personal business to catch up with. So I’m very sorry for the delay!

I’d also like to mention that my blog has had a little make over in the form of a brand new template that I purchased from Pipdig. I’m over the moon with it! I had wanted a new one for a while, and finally decided on this clean and minimal one. I installed it myself and it couldn’t have been simpler (they also offer to install it for you if you prefer). I’ve only had one minor problem which I’m currently waiting for a response from Pipdig in order to try and fix. Other than that though, it just requires some personalised tweaks and some additional features I’d like to add, so it is a bit of a work in progress at the moment. I love it and definitely recommend them if any of you are consider using them for your blog.

So, I’m back with a fresh new blog look and a fresh new outfit post for you, just in time to mark the official beginning of spring. Today’s look features a pretty new denim smock dress and my new favourite glove shoes, both from Asos. I have mentioned before how much I love denim dresses, and this one was too lovely not to get. I have a deep appreciation for smock dresses too for their laidback ease and comfort. I don’t know what it is, but whenever I wear a loose smock dress like this I constantly just want to start twirling in it. With this particular dress, I really loved the ruffles featured up the upper bodice which make it super cute. Being denim, it’s perfect for casual days, especially with its versatile mid blue shade. It’s still far too cold for me to even contemplate losing the tights, but once it warms up I think this is going to be amazing for spring and summer. I’m very confident this is going to get a lot of wear.

My shoes are a glove style that I am currently obsessed with. They’re a huge footwear trend this season along with similar styled court shoes. I fell in love with these black suede ones at first sight and snapped them up. The chunky, block heel makes them comfy and the height is just right making them wearable and appropriate any time of day. There are so many similar styles at the moment; I basically want them all in lots of different colours and materials. I’m sure you’ll be seeing a lot more of these ones in particular from me as I can’t get enough of them. They also had them in a pretty blush nude colour I wish I could have got for the warmer months. I’m hoping they come back in stock soon.

Clockwise from top left corner- 1. Topshop Shiny Rust MA1 Bomber Jacket £60, 2. Zara Embroidered Bomber Jacket £69.99, 3. New Look Khaki Padded Bomber Jacket £34.99, 4. Asos Floral Embroidered Bomber Jacket £65, 5. Topshop Sateen MA1 Bomber Jacket £60, 6. Boohoo Black Suedette Bomber Jacket £25

Bomber jackets are basically everywhere right now and everyone seems to be obsessed with them, including myself. They’re effortlessly cool and casual and seem to work with anything. There are so many amazing ones available at the moment on the high street. I’ve been struggling as there are so many I want and don’t know how to begin picking a favourite. So, with that in mind, I thought I’d do something a little different today. I thought I would share with you a selection of some of the ones I’m loving and currently pining after.

1. Topshop Shiny Rust MA1 Bomber Jacket

As is typically the case, I’m attracted to this one because of how unique the colour is. I think it’s really rather special. I always seem to be drawn to the unexpected and pieces that are different and stand out. The trouble is that I then have a nightmare styling them and working them in with the rest of my wardrobe. This is such a gorgeous colour though and seems like it would work well with a lot of looks. I think it would look amazing paired with some 70s inspired pieces. The shiny fabric looks great and I feel the colour makes it an unexpected choice for spring, which I like.

2. Zara Embroidered Bomber Jacket

I’m in love with floral embroidery at the moment (you can see my post featuring the most incredible floral embroidered jeans here). I think the colour palette of this jacket is lovely. The soft, pale colours are perfect for the spring time and make this a dreamy option.

3. New Look Khaki Padded Bomber Jacket

Everywhere has great classic khaki bombers, and it’s the classic colour of bomber jacket for a reason. I love this particular one from New Look because of its cropped length which I really like. It’s also available in navy which is equally gorgeous.

4. Asos Premium Floral Embroidered Bomber Jacket

This Asos pink and black satin jacket with the prettiest embroidery is probably my favourite. I told you I have a thing for floral embroidery, and it seems to mix perfectly with the casualness of a bomber jacket. Perhaps it shouldn’t work, and maybe to some people it doesn’t, but to me the contrasting aesthetics go together beautifully.  Plus, I think the use of pink is probably what puts this one ahead of the rest for me. Whenever I see a pink bomber, I immediately think of Grease’s pink ladies!

5. Topshop Sateen MA1 Bomber Jacket

Yet again I think what I really love about this Topshop one is its unique colour. I’ve seen this several times in store (and drool over it every time and wish I could afford it), and it’s a difficult colour to describe and capture in photos. It’s a very pale, creamy peachy kind of shade. I’m also a huge fan of the contrasting black used at the hem and cuffs and the MA1 style. The sateen fabric is beautiful and I personally think it’s the coolest out of my picks.

6. Boohoo Black Suedette Bomber Jacket

Using suedette for a bomber jacket is a really nice twist. There are a few good suede and suedette ones around, but I chose this as my favourite because of it being black. The classic colour and alternative material make it a different choice and I feel like it would work well for evening and more dressed up looks. But it still has that casual silhouette making it day time appropriate too. And it’s so affordable. Boohoo is great if you’re looking for a more affordable bomber as they have quite a large selection and there are some gorgeous ones. I definitely recommend you check them out.

So, there you have it: a little round up of my favourite bomber jackets. I haven’t done this kind of post before, I usually stick to outfit posts and beauty reviews. I’m thinking of starting to incorporate more of these ‘wish list’ compilations though so please let me know if it’s something you’d like to see more of. It’s also my first time creating a collage so apologies it’s not that great. I’m learning.

This is a rather exciting post for me to write. I was very fortunate enough to be nominated for The Liebster Award  by not one but two lovely bloggers. So I’d like to say a huge thank you to Rosie from Everything’s Looking Rosie and Erin from Bitchin’ Blonde. I love both of their blogs (and definitely recommend you check them out if you haven’t already), so I was extremely flattered and I couldn’t be more grateful to them both.

The Liebster Award is given by bloggers to other new bloggers. It’s a way to recognise and promote other new blogs and the people behind them. The fact it has come from other bloggers is what I find most special about it and makes me even more appreciative. It means other bloggers whose work I love have recognised me and enjoy reading my blog enough to think of me for this award, and that means the world to me! Plus it’s a great, fun way for you all to get to know more about me.

How does it work?
Firstly, thank the blogger who nominated you and link back to their blog.
Answer 11 questions provided by the person who nominated you.
Share 11 random facts about yourself.
Nominate up to 11 other new bloggers who you think deserve the award, and ask them 11 questions of your own.

As I was nominated by both Rosie and Erin I wasn’t sure whose questions to answer, but as Rosie nominated me first I thought I would answer hers.

Part 1: 11 questions from Everything’s Looking Rosie

1. How did you pick your blog’s name?

I love this question, although my answer isn’t that interesting. It was actually my boyfriend who helped me come up with it. My blog previously had another name, but when I decided I wanted it to be a full on fashion and beauty blog I wanted to change it to something more appropriate. I had been struggling with it for a while when my boyfriend turned to me and said to call it Blossom. I added The Style to it and the domain was available! I just knew as soon as he said it that it was perfect.

2. Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give your 13-year-old self?

To believe in yourself more. And to take better care of your skin and wear sun screen!

3. What are three make up items you could not live without?

Black mascara, black liquid eyeliner, and some form of concealer or foundation. I don’t really have specific must haves as my current ones are kind of letting me down at the moment and I’m searching for better ones. But in a general sense I think they would be my biggies.

4. Describe yourself in three words?

Optimistic, Determined, and Kind (I hope).

5. What is your guilty pleasure?

Movies my boyfriend makes me watch and I moan about but actually end up getting hooked and loving them. Most notably Star Wars and pretty much any corny 80s action movie.

6. What’s your favourite post that you’ve written?

I tried so hard to choose a favourite post but I just couldn’t do it. It would definitely be an outfit post though as they’re always my favourite and the ones that come easiest to me. I’m very grateful that I was asked this question as it’s actually not something I’ve ever thought about. I’ve only been blogging for a few months, but it was interesting for me to go back through my old posts and having to try and choose a favourite. Quite eye opening for me.

7. What’s your favourite make up brand?

I absolutely love both Mac and Chanel and they are definitely my 2 favourites. If I had to pick just one it would probably have to be Mac as I use a lot more from them. Chanel is always such amazing quality and classic though.

8. If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go?

There are so many places I would love the opportunity to visit. But the top of my list has to be New York. I was actually supposed to go for my 21st birthday, but I suddenly became disabled and confined to bed with my fibromyalgia a few months before I was scheduled to go and unfortunately wasn’t able to. I was heartbroken. I’ve dreamed not just of visiting but of one day living there my entire life. The whole trip was booked and we even had amazing seats to watch Wicked on Broadway at the Gershwin Theatre. Hopefully one day I’ll have chance to finally go.

9. What’s your signature dish?

I’m quite good at cooking and baking different things. But I think I’d say fairy cakes. I made them all the time when I was very young with my Grandma and I’ve always continued to make them once I was old enough to bake on my own. The problem is that I always want to immediately eat them all and have to refrain myself and save some for other people. I last made them a couple of weeks ago for Valentine’s Day.

10. What’s your favourite quote?

“If you can’t say something nice, don’t say nothing at all”. Thumper says it in Bambi and it always stuck with me. I say it all the time and try to live by it. There’s no need for meanness or nastiness.

11. What’s your biggest pet peeve?

People who don’t have their dogs on leads! It drives me mad and I could rant all day about it. I have a Chihuahua and there have been several very dangerous close calls where big dogs not on leads in residential areas have tried to attack her. She’s been absolutely terrified so many times and she’s now too scared of other dogs.  What’s worse is their owners don’t even care, like it’s fine for my baby to be chewed up like a piece of meat by their dog. Makes me very, very angry!

Part 2: 11 random facts about myself

1. When I was a young teenager I had a horse.

2. I’m a massive Marilyn Monroe fan.

3. I don’t wear hair extensions. I get asked that question so often so thought I’d answer it now. I used to years ago and couldn’t go a day without them. I could actually do with them still for volume as I have very fine hair, but any extra weight or pressure on my head causes awful headaches and migraines so I can’t.

4. I love Disney. Disneyworld in Florida is my favourite place in the entire world, and I could watch Disney movies all day long, especially the Princess ones.

5. I have the biggest sweet tooth you could ever imagine. I consume an unhealthy amount of sugar.

6. I’m an introvert.

7. I love animals.

8. I’m quite clumsy. I’m always walking into random things, dropping stuff and spilling my drinks.

9. I love Lady Gaga.

10. I’m terrified of spiders.

11. I absolutely love movies. I have so many favourites but my top 3 are Clueless, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

Part 3: 11 questions for my nominees

1. How did you choose your blog’s name? (I’m stealing this one from Rosie because I think it’s such a great question and I’m always interested in hearing how others came up with theirs or possible meanings behind their names)

2. What was the last song you couldn’t get out of your head?

3. If you could collaborate or work with any brand, who would it be and why?

4. What trend are you currently loving? (either fashion or beauty)

5. Who was the first person you told that you were going to/had started your blog?

6. If you could meet anyone in the world, living or dead, who would it be and why?

7. What’s your favourite post that you’ve written? (Again, I’m stealing this one but I found it very helpful to me personally so thought I’d ask my nominees the same question)

8. How would you describe your personal style?

9. What was the last beauty product you discovered that you can’t live without? (Make up, skincare or haircare)

10. Who is your favourite fictional character? (either from a book, TV or film)

11. What has surprised you most about blogging?
