FRESH STARTS

Well hello there,

It’s been far too long since my last blog post, and I have my own personal reasons for that which I won’t bore you with. But after a much needed break I’m finally hoping to get back into the blogging swing of things (if you’ll still have me, of course).

It’s a new year, and that always gets me thinking about fresh starts and making changes. People use the beginning of a new year to mark a start of something new, they use it to make the changes they’ve longed to make but haven’t had the courage or determination to do. I’m exactly the same, and blogging again is one major resolution for me this year. But when 2017 was approaching, I found myself more focused on everything I’d achieved in 2016, instead of just the changes I hoped to make.

2016 was a massive year for me. I’ve obviously talked about it many times before, but after years of health problems holding me back I was finally able to get my life back on track last year. I worked so hard to be able to begin working, and despite my efforts and how much progress I made physically, no employer would consider me. Which don’t get me wrong, I completely understood their reservations, but after working so damn hard to be able to start working again, and wanting to get back into a normal life so desperately, the constant rejection was a tough pill to swallow. But, alas, July 2016 marked my life beginning to get back to normal after I at last landed a part time job. From there I’ve gone from strength to strength. Not only has it enabled me to make even more progress physically, but it gave me a massive confidence boost and has finally made me feel normal again. And in all honesty, despite my permanent exhaustion (awful tiredness is a big part of my health condition as well as the pain), that is what I have wanted more than anything.

Working also meant I was eventually able to go on holiday after 7 years of not being well enough/not having enough money. And not just any holiday, my DREAM holiday to Disney World in Florida, my absolute favourite place in the entire world. Going away honestly did me a world of good and helped put everything in perspective. I came home right before Christmas, and fully ready to embrace a whole new year and whatever lies ahead.

There are many things I want to achieve this year, and I’m hoping I can include dedicating more time to my precious little blog here more than I have been able to in recent months. I still have to take things one step at a time, but I definitely feel more hopeful than ever for what’s to come.

I also want to say a massive thank you to all of my lovely readers, followers and blogging friends for continuing to support me, despite my absence. And I hope 2017 is full of happy things for all you lovelies!

2017, let’s do this!

Katie xx
