WELCOME BACK

Well, it’s been a while. I suppose I should start with a bit of an explanation as to why it’s been so long. It has literally been over a year since I last posted, and it was a hard year for me, not gonna lie. Not long after my last post, I had a really bad flare up of my Fibromyalgia after getting ill with the flu. Whenever I get ill, the infection has a bad impact on my pain, but this particular bout of horrid flu really messed me up. It took quite a few months and a lot of physio to recover. Pain is still a constant, daily struggle for me, but I’ve carried on with the physio and it’s really helped. I definitely recommend to anyone with pain or movement issues, it’s just a matter of finding the right physiotherapist for you.

Anyway, despite getting the pain back under control, I started a new job with more hours. And although I could finally handle it pain wise, it was then the tiredness and exhaustion that I suffer from as part of my condition that just made it impossible to do anything other than work. My days off are usually spent in bed resting and recovering, which leaves very little time to worry about blogging. But I’ve wanted to get back into it for such a long time. I finally feel like I have things under control and can make a go of it again.

So, what better way to kick things off than a good ole outfit post. I shared a photo of this gorge vinyl trench coat recently on my Instagram and got so many messages and comments asking where it was from. It’s Missguided, and I’d been eyeing it for months. Vinyl has been such a big trend all season, but during the colder months I couldn’t justify the price. But alas the Christmas sales began, and lo and behold I spotted it in the sale whilst scrolling through my saved items list on Asos (always my favourite way to shop the sales). An absolute bargain at £26, it looks great layered with knitwear during the cold weather we’ve been having, but will see me straight into Spring as well. And the burgundy colour is gorgeous! I’ve tried black vinyl but it just doesn’t work with me being so pale, I fully look like I’ve stepped out of the Matrix. But this rich shade is perfect for me.

I kept the rest of this look (fairly) simple, with a solid, deep teal green coloured dress, a black cross body bag and my amazing jacquard, metallic boots I got back in 2016. They’re still an absolute favourite and are a great way to add another texture to contrast with the vinyl.

I also just want to finish by saying a great big thank you to all those who sent me messages whilst I was away; it meant so much to me. And for anyone who may suffer from a similar illness, if you have any recommendations of products or tips that can help with the tiredness and fatigue I’d love to hear from you.

Thanks for reading,

Katie xx
