THE COMFIEST TREND AROUND

Yep, I am seriously late to the party, but I am officially a convert to the pyjama trend everyone’s been loving. I always thought it wasn’t really for me and not something I could pull off, despite looking great on others, but that’s definitely changed now. It was one dress in particular that was responsible for my conversion. I had seen and immediately loved it whilst aimlessly scrolling through Asos, as you do, but I added it to my saved items and sadly forgot all about it and its cuteness. It was only when my birthday came around in July that I remembered.

I wanted a new dress to wear for my big day, as I’m sure we all do, but it was just to go out for a low key meal with my boyfriend. Despite its casualness, I knew this dress was the right choice for me. I didn’t want anything fancy, just a nice dress I could dress up with some heels and something I could wear again for day or night. I eagerly unpackaged it the second it arrived, slipped it on and instantly knew it was perfect. It has everything going for it; its loose shape is made flattering with the tie waist, it’s made of a soft, light fabric that makes it insanely comfortable, and it has a pretty floral print with contrasting piping to add that classic pyjama look to it.

Paired with my AH-MAZING rose gold boots from Office, this casual outfit had some serious sass injected into it to make more of a stylish statement and give off less of an uber casual ‘I just got out of bed and left the house in my PJ’s’ vibe. I don’t really do ‘casual’, so dressing it up a little is much more my style.

I also want to say that taking these photos was actually a huge accomplishment for me. I’m still really self-conscious and hate photos of myself, and posing for blog photos is never easy for me. These are the first ones I’ve been brave enough to take outside of the privacy of my back garden, and I love how they turned out and the different aesthetic they give. I need to say a HUGE thank you to my lovely friend Tash for her support, encouragement and patience and for doing such an amazing job taking them for me. If you haven’t already, please be sure to go check out her blog love-laughter-fashion because she’s awesome!

A pyjama dress was definitely a great choice to ease me into the whole sleepwear as day wear trend. I’ve now got my eye on some beautiful, silky pyjama style tops that will hopefully be making their way into my wardrobe very soon. This is one trend that looks set to carry on way into the new season, and why say no to being comfy all day long?

What do you all think of the pyjama trend? Is it for you?

Katie xx

  4. I've just bought some very similar rose gold from Topshop and I absolutely love them but am umming and ahhing about whether to keep them because I'm not sure how I'd style then! I really love how you've worn them here though, I thought they wouldn't work with tights but they do <3
And I feel exactly the same regarding taking outfit photos... I feel so awkward! I hope I'll slowly get there too xD xx

  8. Looking absolutely majestic as per forever my beaut babe! Was so thrilled to see you and your gorge self back with a beautiful blog post. The pyjama trend is all the pretty and all the perfect on you Katie, you rock it like no other! Totally magical in your gorgeous rose gold boots too; they have to be the sassiest, most stunning boots ever made! You should deffo be so proud of yourself, shooting photos outside of your home is so difficult and takes a hell of a lot of courage and bravery, so you GO GIRL! You look utterly beautiful and all the babin' in these shoots, so casual and relaxed and natural <3

I really love the pyjama trend although am not sure how I'd style it. Perhaps with a bed pool float to lie back on? Haha ;) :D I so hope you manage to get hold of the beaut silk PJ tops you're crushing on, they sound so divine and I can see you rocking them like the dream you are <3
